Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable and mission-focused Ammunition Specialist to support a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Training Program. This role demands expertise in the end-to-end management of ammunition and explosives, including receipt, storage, issuance, and turn-in, executed in strict compliance with U.S. military regulations and FMS client-provided technical and maintenance documentation.
The Ammunition Specialist will play a pivotal role in planning and executing Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) operations, ensuring operational readiness through strategic site coordination, resource forecasting, and real-time logistics support. This includes supervising contractor personnel, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and ensuring seamless integration of ammunition support into mission execution.
Additionally, the specialist will lead efforts in requisition prioritization and lifecycle oversight of ammunition and explosives, ensuring accurate accountability, efficient usage, and timely distribution to meet dynamic operational demands.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implement procedures for the management of U.S. and FMS client ammunition and explosives.Coordinate requisition priorities and oversee the lifecycle of ammunition, including accountability, usage, and distribution.Inspect and coordinate land usage for FARP sites in collaboration with the S-3; oversee all FARP operations.Brief the client to support supply planning and ensure ammunition allocations align with mission requirements.Forecast ammunition resupply requirements for 24, 48, and 72-hour intervals; maintain historical data on recent issues.Submit ammunition status reports to the client.Coordinate special issue and mission-specific ammunition requirements with the clientSupervise contractor personnel at FARP sites, ensuring proper licensing, safety compliance, and operational effectiveness.Ensure proper communications, safety procedures, and spill contingency plans are in place and followed.Conduct daily preventative maintenance checks and quality surveillance of ammunition handling areas.Maintain accurate counts of ammunition on pads and coordinate resupply as needed.Provide instructions to guard forces regarding ammunition holding areas (HA).Ensure proper documentation and reporting at the beginning and end of each shift.Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of U.S. Army ammunition management experience at the battalion or brigade level.At least 3 years of logistics and supply chain experience.Strong knowledge of U.S. Army supply regulations and property inventory management practices.Familiarity with Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS).Experience with Systems, Applications, and Processes (SAP).Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise personnel in high-tempo operational environments.Preferred Qualifications
