Responsibilities:

 

ASL Interpreting:

 - Provide effective communication facilitation between multiple parties, working to and from ASL and English

 - Understand cultural and linguistic differences between communities and respond accordingly

 

 

 Expectations:

 - Submit paperwork on time and as required

 - Superior interpersonal skills

 - Adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct

 

 Minimum requirements include: 

National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Ethical decision making Excellent customer service relations Interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds (customers, colleagues, and management) Knowledge of educational vocabulary and a strong understanding of Deaf culture.

 

Candidates may be required to complete:

Criminal background check and fingerprinting Drug test
