Location: Bessemer City Schools, Birmingham, AL
Position Type: Full-Time | 2025–2026 School Year
Salary: Based on experience and certification (per district salary schedule)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? Bessemer City Schools is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our team for the upcoming school year.

?? Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide differentiated instruction tailored to student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

? Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in Special Education Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and instructional strategies Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Experience working with diverse learners preferred
