AME Lead Engineer-Automation
As a Lead Engineer – Sourced Automation, you will drive automation initiatives within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, focusing on sourcing automation solutions from external vendors. You will develop strategic plans, collaborate with internal teams, and oversee the successful deployment of these technologies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality in manufacturing processes. Responsibilities: + Lead the Sourced Automation initiatives within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, overseeing the implementation of automation solutions sourced from external vendors. + Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and quality through the adoption of automation technologies. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to identify automation needs and evaluate potential solutions from external vendors. + Manage relationships with external automation vendors, including negotiating contracts, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards. + Ensure adherence to equipment standardization practices, facilitating consistency and compatibility across all automated systems. + Enforce equipment safety standards, ensuring that all automation solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal safety protocols. + Provide leadership and direction to the Sourced Automation Engineer team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. + Oversee the execution of sourced automation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical specifications. + Serve as the primary point of contact for sourced automation activities, liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address issues and drive continuous improvement. + Monitor industry trends and advancements in automation technology and evaluate their applicability to the organization's manufacturing processes and objectives. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. + Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in automation engineering, including robotics, control systems, and machine vision. + Familiarity with safety regulations and equipment standardization principles in the manufacturing sector. + Extensive experience in automation engineering, with a focus on sourcing and implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment. + Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering results in a global context. + Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with external vendors. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans to support business objectives. + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. + Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. **_We Don’t Just Build The World, We Build Innovative Technology Too._** Joining the Stanley Black & Decker team means working in an innovative, tech-driven and highly collaborative team environment supported by over 58,000 professionals in 60 countries across the globe.
