Job Overview The Dispatcher coordinates transportation to all groups and persons involved in emergency and nonemergency medical response and care. Completes data entry of customer information in CAD system to ensure accurate patient and billing information. Holds a regularly scheduled CAD 1 position. Functions as a leader within the center, acting as the last voice in decision making, in the absence of management. Displays a high degree of proficiency and consistency in all communication Center functions. Required Qualifications Attention to Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task. Computer Skills Basic: Ability to use a computer preferred and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc). Crisis Intervention: Ability to identify, assess, understand, and cope with a serious situation, from the moment it first occurs to the point that recovery procedures start. Critical Thinking: Gathers and integrates critical information, recognizing and addressing underlying assumptions of others, to arrive at effective solutions; breaks down problems into simple tasks or activities; analyzes relationships among several parts of a situation. Data Entry: Skilled in entering data and calculating items for processing; input of data into computer systems. Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, coworkers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection. Organization: Effective management of projects, deadlines, and work load prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functional whole. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; utilizes appropriate tools and staff resources along with sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
