ALM Engineer
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Self-initiative learning, to be proficient in all aspects of ALM products by means of on-job practice, off-line training, mentor guidance and so on, and then stay ahead of the latest enhancements and revisions of Emerson ALM product features. + Study assiduously, enrich the knowledge, enlarge the vision, enhance the mind, to become experienced and skilled on all tasks. + Participate in execution of ALM projects upon designated project roles, undertake corresponding project responsibilities, face various challenges, analyze & address problems through critical thinking, complete every project task with result oriented and proactively. Project tasks include but not limited to: system architecture design; functional design, procurement & assembly/installation of hardware & software; understand customer’s process and operations, comprehend customer’s P&ID and Process Hazard Analysis) report, conduct protection layer analysis and develop alarm strategy with customer’s technical and operations team; study customer’s control system configuration, optimize alarm system, rationalize alarm presentation and event chronicle by applying alarm management philosophy; implement system configuration as well as debugging; integrate the system within Emerson DeltaV or third-party process automation platforms, and ensure bi-directional real-time data exchange between subsystems; take on system performance and/or functional issues. + Provide services efficiently at the customer's site, conduct acceptance testing, start-up commissioning, solving, fixing defects, performance improvement, etc. for delivered ALM projects, respond quickly and accurately to customer for their technical queries, instruct end users to operate ALM system accurately. + In response to problems encountered during project execution and site service, investigate the root cause in depth, position the defects of ALM product precisely, agree with global service center to report failures, supplement scenario reproducing means, and persevere in pursuing the solutions. + Complete other jobs assigned by supervisor/manager. **Who You Are:** You gain insight into customer needs. You build collaboration allowing others across the organization to achieve shared objectives! **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Bachelor’s degree or experience in engineering majors, process control/automation engineering related majors, such as chemical process automation, control science and engineering, industrial engineering and informatization, etc., in addition, be familiar with theory and practice of chemical engineering principles; chemical engineering related majors, such as chemical engineering and technology, applied chemistry, petrochemical process engineering, etc., in addition, be familiar with theory and practice of process control; non-related engineering majors, but be familiar with theory and practice of (a) chemical engineering principles and (b) process control + Rich experience in alarm performance analysis and modeling with the aid of self-developed Microsoft Excel VBA macro or Access application. + Good presentation skills in English verbally and in-written. + Able to long-term or short-term domestic or oversea business travel. + Effective time management to complete tasks on time, can work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently with minimum supervision. + High consciousness of occupational safety, health and ethics. **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + Experienced with Alarm Management software (e.g. DeltaV Analyze / Alarm Mosaic, Emerson AgileOps, Honeywell DynAMo, PAS PlantState Integrity). + Preferable to understand and apply ALM related standards (e.g.ISA 18.2 / IEC 62682 Alarm Management, EEMUA 191 Alarm System Guide). + Proficient in DCS architecture and OPC communication. + Preferable to experience in Microsoft Server OS including SQL Server installation, or be familiar with MicroStrategy report configuration. + Good skills in computer hardware, network & virtualization. + Have 3 years or more of relevant work experience. **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
