Summary This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This position is a WG-8268-11 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1356000 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing. This is a bargaining unit position. This position is also advertised on AGR Announcement #AF25-036. Responsibilities Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the pneudraulics shop. Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the pneudraulics shop in an effective and efficient manner. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures. Estimates time, equipment and material requirements. Devises and maintains plans and records. Provides recommendations and input to supervisor concerning personnel action such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, and leave. Performs the full range of the pneudraulics shop work such as troubleshoots, removes, inspects, installs, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and/or tests pneudraulic systems and components for aircraft pneudraulic systems. Skill in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - MSgt (E-7) Minimum Military Grade - SSgt (E-5) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to plan and direct the work of an aircraft pneudraulic system maintenance function. The specialized experience must also demonstrate experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines; repairing, rebuilding and overhauling systems and major components of aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems; diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulics accessories; diagnosing trouble and determining remedy of an entire system is necessary in order to correct malfunction; repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems; and interpreting technical manuals, specifications and publications. Possession (or previous possession) of AFSC 2A674 is optimum. Education This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
