AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32)
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1366000 and is part of the TN 164th AW Air National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter). Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-10, you will direct, monitor or perform overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft; ensure aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft; perform in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications; plan, develop and conduct training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW); comply with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations; perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-1 through E-6 (must be willing to accept a reduction to E-5) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components; the ability to adjust settings according to established specifications; skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months specialized experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
