**Summary:** Meets all requirements and performs all duties and responsibilities of a Functional Check Civilian Aircrewman. Performs in-flight duties and assists the Maintenance Test Pilots, consistent with established Naval and Force and Company standards depending on assignment.
**Minimum Requirements** :
+ High school diploma or equivalent--General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
+ Must be Mission/Design/Series (MDS) qualified or have at least two years of experience in the classification for the applicable MDs.
+ Must hold a valid, or have the physical ability to obtain, an FAA or Military Class II Medical Certificate, as prescribed by the Government.
+ Able to perform a class II swim qualification.
+ Complete the Aviation Physiology and Water Survival Qualification.
+ Must qualify and maintain currency to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs) and run-ups when required.
+ Completes maintenance documentation accurately using Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and required forms, as required by job assignment.
+ Must show proficiency in the use of IMDS within 90 days after assignment.
+ Must obtain and maintain qualification as an ATABS Operator
+ Must have three (3) years’ aircraft maintenance experience on the H-60 aircraft which shall be documented in personnel and/or training records.
+ May be required to provide on-the-job training (OJT) to newly assigned personnel, within the classification.
+ Read, write, speak and understand English.
+ Must have a valid state driver’s license when required by job assignment.
+ Must obtain a valid government driver’s license when required by job assignment.
+ Must obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Performs as flight crew as assigned or aboard aircraft in flight or on the ground during both day and night operations. Performs in-flight observation, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repair consistent with current procedures. Performs aircraft functional checks including, but not limited to, run-up and magnetic compass swings, when required. Uses tracking and balancing equipment, hoists, dollies, cranes, and special tools and test equipment necessary in the performance of functional assignment. Performs all Aircraft Mechanic duties when not performing Flight Mechanic duties. Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
**Other Duties:**
+ Performs housekeeping duties in immediate work area.
+ Ensures that tools and equipment used by the employee in the classification are properly calibrated.
+ When selected, attends schools and classes, which are designated by the Company for employees in the assigned classification.
+ Uses approved methods in the performance of the assigned job.
+ Performs the duties of lower classified employees within the line of progression when assigned.
+ Completes and maintains records and reports as required by job assignment.
+ Demonstrates job procedures and assists in the training of employees within the classification as required.
+ Disposes of hazardous materials related to job assignment.
+ Performs duties using automated equipment and software utilized in the functional assignment.
+ May remove and reinstall cowlings, panels and fairings necessary to gain access to work within his classification.
+ When assigned to the flight line, provide customer support during launch and recovery and aircraft security as required.
+ Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested in accordance with the PWS and Site Management.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must have the ability to perform aircraft maintenance duties and move freely about the interior & exterior of the aircraft as well as meet aircraft specific specifications for weight limits. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection. Additionally, the job requires constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
