Summary You will serve as an Aircraft Mechanic in the MRO Production Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will Install, adjust, align, troubleshoot and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, components, and prototypes. You will disassemble components/systems and determine the required repairs, reassembles, and reinstalls on aircraft. You will Install, align, and adjust complete new systems. You will connect related systems, such as hydraulic/pneudraulic and cable systems to newly installed or repaired units. You will provide guidance to other employees. You will use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Performing installation, adjusting, aligning, repair, disassembly/assembly, troubleshooting and final functional and operational tests on a variety of aircraft systems, airframes, assemblies and components such as landing gear, pumps, hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic and flight control systems; test equipment, remove and/or replace system components and determine discrepancies using visual and functional inspections of items installed; have knowledge of and use all tools and equipment, test fixtures, test stands and specialized measuring instruments; read and interpret a variety of blueprints, specifications, diagrams and instructions to perform as an aircraft mechanic. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. This position may require work outside in inclement weather and handle hazardous waste materials. Incumbent may be subject to be exposed to dirt/dust, grease, aircraft/hydraulic fluids, oil, solvents, and other hazardous fluids/gases.
