Summary This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1445000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard. Responsibilities As a Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor, WS-8801-13, you will provide significant input for the overall allocation of personnel, funding and equipment resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operational tempo, and total force integration must be planned on a annual or longer basis. More representative to the actual planning responsibilities associated with this job would be the day to day work accomplishment and direct involvement with work operations planning to include daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting. Because of the Total Force Mission integration with the USAF, keeps unit assigned Air National Guard mission aircraft in combat ready status and able to be fully integrated with USAF aircraft and missions upon activation and regular contingency operations, in addition to daily training and support missions. Integrates work to include: aircraft and aircraft system modifications (Time Change Technical Orders), deployment and mobility planning, human resources and financial forecasting, recurring Air Force mandated inspection requirements, mission and weapons systems changes, contingency planning relating to carrying out the military mission of the wing, and the implementation of policies and procedures in the accomplishment of the work. Analyzes work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and leaders for accomplishment of assigned work. Determines priority of work to be accomplished in relation to future demands, including unanticipated or emergency requirements mandating reallocation of resources. Provides higher level management and/or leadership information on status of work, budget estimates, required changes in equipment, facilities, techniques etc. for mission planning purposes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted, E7 thru E9 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS13 must have at least 36 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting parts, subassemblies and components and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification, as well as have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
