Summary This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANAGER, Position Description Number D2413000 and is part of the 177th MAINTENANCE SQUADRON, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a second-level supervisor and technical authority over two or more Air National Guard (ANG) surface maintenance facilities Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANAGER, GS-1601-12, you will: Analyze and resolve a variety of conventional maintenance management problems to improve existing maintenance operations, production, and practices that impact the overall maintenance program. Establish methods and procedures to ensure maintenance tasks performed meet or exceed established policies and regulations Establish and monitor the shop safety and health program Monitor the organization's use of automation to properly account for manpower utilization and materials management Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to complete a probationary period successfully Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for the Selective Service Area of consideration: CAT IV: Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey National Guard Military Grade: Max: 1SGT - LT/O2 Applicants who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support.
