Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Contract)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, First Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Join PDS Tech Commercial and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aircraft wheel and brake systems. As a Mechanical Repair Technician, your work directly supports the maintenance and reliability of aerospace components used in both commercial and defense aviation.
What You’ll Be DoingPerform receiving inspections on incoming aircraft assemblies and components
Disassemble, wash, blast, paint, rebuild, pressure test, and reassemble components following technical specs and manuals
Adhere to FAA, JAA, and customer maintenance standards
Mix and apply primer/paint to components
Ensure proper segregation and identification of in-progress parts
Maintain a clean, organized workspace by applying 5S principles
Identify and eliminate non-value-added steps in processes
Consistently contribute to process improvements
Manually handle large aircraft wheels and brakes (lifting and rolling)
Follow hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures
What You Need to BringRequired:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs (with assistance if needed)
Willingness to work in an FAA safety-sensitive role (drug screening required)
Basic English literacy (read, write, speak)
Preferred:
Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals and FAA documentation
Familiarity with aircraft component overhaul or shop environments
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
