Responsibilities You will perform complex electrician work involved in disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems, equipment and accessories. You will correct discrepancies by removal, repair, or replacement of defective circuits, wires, connectors, control units, plugs, switches, circuit breakers, diodes, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems. You will perform final functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems, equipment, wiring and cables to check continuity, and resistance. You will use hand and power tools, in addition to working with blueprints, technical directives, diagrams, and schematics. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Testing and repairing aircraft electrical systems and accessories on fixed and rotary wing aircraft; 2) Working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical directives; 3) Correcting discrepancies by removal, repair, or replacement of parts of aircraft electrical systems; and 4) Using hand and power tools associated with the trade. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
