Amentum provides field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.S. Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT. As a major test site for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts. In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization.
Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS) contract to Amentum. Through the FRC&LSS contract, we have integrated with Mellor Engineering, TOPE, and JRAD with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.
Job Description
This position supports Safety Air Monitoring within the Chemical Test Division. This position consists of operating a Miniature Chemical Agent Monitoring System (MINICAMS) and the candidate will need to be able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of set-up, operation, sampling, calibration, quality control, data collection, and troubleshooting for test monitoring in a chemical agent or simulant environment. Must be competent in basic computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Responsibilities\:
· Operate MINICAM systems to detect and monitor the presence of chemical warfare agents and other hazardous substances.
· Perform routine maintenance and calibration of MINICAM equipment.
· Document all monitoring activities and results accurately and completely.
· Respond to alarms and potential chemical releases, following established emergency procedures.
· Maintain a strong commitment to safety and adhere to all applicable safety regulations.
· Participate in training exercises and maintain required certifications.
· Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the safety and security of DPG personnel and the environment.

Amentum will provide comprehensive training to qualified candidates to achieve Government certification in MINICAM operation. Certification requirements are outlined in established programs, ensuring technicians meet the highest standards of safety and proficiency.
Required Clearance\: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates.
