Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Air Import department by completing the following tasks:

Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.Process pre alerts from overseas originsMonitor/track shipments in transit to arrivalTimely update event codes in the import systemLiaise with airlines and sheds for any discrepanciesLiaise with collection drivers and the warehouse teamCreate records for shipments in our customs facilitySettlement of consoles with overseas offices.Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others).Meet compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer’s policies / requirements.Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.

The successful applicant will work the following shift pattern:

4 days on  4 days off 6am - 6pm 

QualificationsPrevious experience in a similar position desirable Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.Pro-active, strong organizational skills.Good computer skills (Excel, Word).Fluent in English.
