• 3.5 hours per day • Must be ESSA Compliant Under supervision, to perform a variety of instructional activities; to assist in the conduct of intensified learning experiences; to perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; and to do other related work as required. • Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises; • Tutor individual students and small groups of students to reinforce and follow up learning activities; • Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities as a follow-up to the presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel; • Direct students into safe learning and play activities and functions, and assist in the shaping of appropriate social behaviors; • May be required to assist bus drivers in the loading and unloading of special education students as well as riding along on the bus to supervise special education students.

Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.

All positions require proof of completion of the 12th grade or equivalent (ie. high school diploma, high school transcript, GED.) Must be ESSA Compliant: Official transcript reflecting a minimum of 48 college semester units from an accredited college or AA degree; OR Paraprofessional Certificate; OR Test on file with the Fairfax School District Paraprofessional testing will be available. Special Education Aide II test will be required.
