Each department has a specific role and responsibility in the development, delivery and deployment of AI and data solutions across Edelman and the communications industry.  We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking AI Technical Solutions Lead to join our team and help shape the future of AI-powered applications. In this role, you’ll design and build robust, scalable back-end systems that integrate cutting-edge GPT technologies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to life, leveraging modern APIs, AI models, and automation tools to push the boundaries of what’s possible. If you are passionate about backend development and excited by the evolving landscape of AI, we’d love to hear from you.  ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain back-end applications utilizing modern AI chat and agent completion APIs.Design and implement scalable cloud-based architectures that support custom GPT functionalities.Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and deliver effective backend solutions.Optimize application performance and ensure reliability and scalability.Continuously improve existing applications and develop new features aligned with evolving AI technologies.QualificationsFoundational understanding of GPT models (e.g., ChatGPT, OpenAI API, prompt engineering).Familiarity with tools like OpenAI’s Custom GPTs and Microsoft Copilot.  Strong experience in backend software development.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript or no-code/low-code platforms)Experience with AI models, particularly GPT-based APIs, and integrating them into applications.Hands- on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, and related deployment tools.Understanding of database systems and RESTful/API design principles.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Bonus: Experience with full-stack software development.Bonus: Familiarity with OpenAI functionalities such as GPT Actions, Assistants API, function calling, finetuning and Copilot integrations across the Microsoft ecosystem.
