The AI Product Manager, Advanced Assay Innovation, will lead Global Product Management efforts for Advanced Assay Open Innovation initiatives, with a focus on harnessing AI to advance diagnostic capabilities. You will be responsible for defining and executing a clear product vision and commercial strategy in collaboration with the Open Innovation and Advanced Assays Product Management teams. This includes conducting in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and competitive dynamics, ensuring the development of a portfolio that meets the evolving needs of both research and clinical customers. This position reports to the Director of Product Management and is part of the Advanced Staining Reagents with a strong connection to our Open Innovation team, located in our Deer Park Office, Chicago, Illinois, or Newcastle Innovation Centre, United Kingdom, and will be an on-site role. You will create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for AI-enabled assays, ensuring alignment with key franchise projects (PD-L1 and HER2). Prioritizing features based on business value and ROI, you will work closely with the Advanced Staining Reagents and Digital Pathology teams to guide the strategic direction of AI-driven solutions. Additionally, you will lead the definition of Minimum Marketable Product (MMP) criteria and serve as a subject matter expert throughout the product lifecycle. This role is pivotal in driving the integrated value proposition of our AI-enabled assay solution from Research Use Only (RUO) to clinical application. The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of the interdependencies between the assay, instrument, scanner, Imaging Management System (IMS), and AI components. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing the development, launch, and lifecycle management of AI models and algorithms for diagnostic use, ensuring compliance with internal processes such as Accelerated Product Development (APD), Launch Excellence (LEx), and Design Control. You will monitor key performance indicators, manage budgets and resources, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product team. Collaboration will be key, as you partner with global sales, marketing, R&D, service, and commercial teams to ensure the product meets customer needs and enhances user experience. You will build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to gather insights and validate product direction. Furthermore, you will support the development and execution of go-to-market strategies, including market access, evidence generation, and adoption planning, while also contributing to impactful marketing campaigns, training materials, and sales enablement tools. Finally, you will be responsible for communicating product status, key milestones, and launch plans to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, advocating for the product portfolio and ensuring alignment with broader business goals. The essential requirements of the job include + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Biotechnical Engineering, Computer Science). Advanced degree preferred (MBA / PhD Desirable or equivalent business experience + Proven Product Management experience in Cancer diagnostics, Biomedical, AI-enabled SAMD (software as a medical device) technologies with specific experience launching SAMD (software as a medical device) class three products in a matrix + 3rd party partner environment + Ability to translate and leverage quantitative and qualitative market insights, Voice of Customer (VOC) into actionable recommendations, quantitative (VOC /modelling), collect, synthesize, and action on complex information + Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a deep understanding of AI and diagnostic technologies. Ability to take current state and develop predictions on future state + Deep understanding of slide scanning systems and their interaction with AI platforms, including image formats, drivers, dataset types, software lifecycle, and secure cloud deployment. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel ~ 30% travel including overnight It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Danaher DBS tools such as Launch Excellence (LEx) + Stakeholder product training. + Relationship management, business development and negotiation skills + Slide scanning systems and their interaction with AI platforms, including image formats, drivers, dataset types, software lifecycle, and secure cloud deployment.
