Job Title: AI Policy Lead Enterprise Location: Richmond, VA Type: Contract Compensation: $80 - $130 hourly Contractor Work Model: Hybrid This leadership position focuses on developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and frameworks that guide the development, deployment, and use of AI technologies. Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of this role: Core Responsibilities: + Develop and Implement AI Governance: Creating and maintaining the frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures for responsible AI use. This includes collaborating with subject matter experts to align policies with laws, regulations, and strategic objectives. + Establish Ethical Guidelines: Setting guidelines for the ethical use of AI, including data privacy, security, and fairness, in collaboration with relevant teams. + Oversee Policy Adherence: Designing and implementing processes to monitor and inspect AI practices, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. This includes supporting the production of metrics to track progress and program accountability. + Manage AI Risk: Identifying and assessing risks associated with AI systems, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring their effectiveness. This involves collaborating with risk and compliance teams to document and track AI risks, including issues like shadow AI and non-public information protection. + Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Working with legal and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives align with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. This involves staying updated on evolving AI-related legal and regulatory requirements and adapting internal policies accordingly. + Communicate and Educate: Communicating AI governance policies and practices to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Providing training and awareness programs on AI governance, ethics, and risks to foster a culture of responsible AI use. + Promote Responsible AI Adoption: Supporting and guiding the adoption of AI technologies while ensuring ethical and responsible development and deployment. + Leadership and Collaboration: Leading or supporting the AI Steering Committee and working with various departments (e.g., IT, data science, legal) to integrate responsible AI practices. Collaborating with external stakeholders, regulators, and industry bodies to stay informed about AI regulations and governance standards. Skills and Qualifications: + Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Law, Public Policy). + Experience in AI governance, risk management, or related fields. + Strong understanding of AI technologies, data privacy laws, and ethical considerations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and lead governance initiatives. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Knowledge of AI and data governance tools and technologies. + Certifications in AI, data privacy, or governance are a plus.
