Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer / Developer resource to join our ‘Data & AI’ team. You will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of state-of-the-art AI solutions. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, you will design scalable, effective and responsible solutions and drive innovation and business outcomes using AI, including Agentic AI technologies. The role is focused on project work but may include some product development and technical pre-sales. It is part of the DXC ‘Data & AI’ business in Australia.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, determine and design the AI solution and ensure alignment with business outcomes. You will use your AI and development expertise to develop and implement the solutions and to guide and support the customer. DXC partners with leading technology providers in the ‘Data & AI’ domain including, Microsoft, AWS, Google, NVIDIA, Databricks and others. We also use opensource components in many of our solutions.
This position can be based in either Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne with a preference for Sydney.
Your skills and experience
Tertiary qualification in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related field.Proven hands-on experience developing, implementing and integrating Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions incorporating LLMs, LangGraph, MCP, A2A & Retrieval Augmented GenerationExperience implementing AI evaluation and improvement solutions and techniquesExperience in solutioning AI applications including machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorchStrong, 5+ years programming skills (including Python) and solid experience with developer augmentation tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf or Amazon Q DeveloperKnowledge of AI Governance at an operational levelExperience with AI & Data platforms and technologies from leading providers including Microsoft, AWS, Google & Databricks. Deep experience with at least one of these providers.Experience working on systems modernisation or migration projectsCommunication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholdersCritical thinking and problem-solving skills are essentialOur culture and benefits
