Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in the aviation sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products, components, and processes meet industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance, such as those established by EASA, FAA, and AS9100 standards. The role will focus on continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and quality systems oversight across the manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes. Expertise and knowledge of Integrated Baded Rotors (IBR’s) or Bladed Disks (Blisks) would be favourable.
Work Experience
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures in accordance with aviation industry standards. Lead customer / internal investigations using problem resolution tools and techniquesConduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, EASA Part 21/145, and FAA regulations.Investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Review and approve inspection and test plans, engineering drawings, and documentation for compliance.Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve process capability and reduce variation.Maintain and analyse quality metrics, and prepare quality reports for internal/customer stakeholders and regulatory bodies.Manage non-conformances and concession processes, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA activities.Liaise with customers and regulatory authorities on quality matters, audits, and product conformity.Ensure that calibration and inspection equipment is properly maintained and certified.Provide engineering support as required to the team and customersDocument, summarize, write reports, and disseminate information per requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or related field.3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within the aerospace or aviation industry.Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, EASA, FAA, or other applicable aviation quality standards.Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, and control plans.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software (e.g., SAP, Q-Pulse, or similar QMS tools).Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Preferred:
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar professional certification.Experience with aviation manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, composites, assembly).Familiarity with regulatory audits and certification processes.Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
