POSITION SUMMARY
Supervise the manufacturing process to include flow of materials, work schedules, quality/quantity of output, employee performance, recordkeeping, and communication to all functions or departments necessary to ensure customer demand is met timely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Ensure the highest level of product quality by implementing and monitoring quality control processes.
+ Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
+ Lead the implementation and practice of Lean principles throughout the production process.
+ Train employees on Lean methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Utilize both direct and indirect labor to maintain on-time delivery of products within the department.
+ Assume ownership of production schedules, ensuring alignment with business demands and resource availability.
+ Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
+ Conduct safety training and assessments to minimize workplace hazards.
+ Maintain accurate schedules, records, and reports related to material tracking and production resource availability.
+ Assist in monitoring inventory levels, generating tracking reports, and performing necessary data entry.
+ Identify employee development needs and provide training to enhance skills and flexibility within the workforce.
+ Write and conduct performance reviews for hourly employees as required, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
+ Utilize visual management systems to communicate production plans, progress, and continuous improvement activities effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. 4 year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Strong analytical and technical skills to understand business practices.
+ Ability to identify and recommend appropriate automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ Familiarity with electronic processing and experience with MRP/MRE systems; knowledge of Solumina or PowerBI is a plus.
+ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to effectively interface with all internal and external contacts, fostering collaboration and understanding.
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit as well as talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to use a computer or operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
