Description

Actalent is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support a new hypersonic space vehicle program out of the NRL. This is supporting research and development and working with a team of scientist, engineers and PhDs and we are looking for an Aerospace Engineer to help lead some of the team and processes. You will be supporting R&D for different flexible skins for resisting temperatures at changing hypersonic speeds.

Day to Day May Include...

-Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, testing and integration of hypersonic systems, including glide vehicles, boosters, guidance/navigation and thermal protection systems

-Support systems engineering activities such as requirements definition, risk management, interface control and verification/validation

-Review and evaluate technical proposals, designs, and test plans for compliance with performance, safety, and reliability standards

-Lead and support test flight planning, execution, and data analysis

-Contribute to technology maturation plans, modeling and simulation activities and digital engineering initiatives

-Prepare technical reports, briefings, and documentation for stakeholders and decision makers

-Mentor junior engineers and provide SME input across multidisciplinary domains

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess...

-Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineer or a related field

-10+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferred in hypersonic, missile systems or advanced development

-Active Secret Clearance to start with ability to upscope to TS/SCI

-Broad Understanding of high-speed aerodynamics, thermal management, and materials engineering for extreme environments

-Familiarity with DOD Acquisition processes, test and evaluation protocols, and system development lifecycles

The preferred candidate will possess...

-A Master's Degree or PhD in related field

-5+ Years in Hypersonics

-Experience with digital engineering tools such as MBSE, Ansys, Matlab or CFD tools

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
