Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Aircraft Systems Software Engineer who excels in a dynamic prototyping environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong understanding of current software design methodologies and a passion for innovation. This role requires broad technical knowledge to design and develop software from requirements, conduct root-cause analysis, and offer solutions and recommendations for software defects.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to meet project requirements.Develop acceptance test procedures to validate the functionality and performance of software models.Recommend, incorporate, and/or alter new and existing simulator designs and documentation.Participate in engineering design reviews.Perform hardware/software integration and testing on flight simulator training devices, ensuring seamless operation and interaction with other simulator components.Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements by staying updated with the latest advancements in aircraft systems, avionics technology, and simulation methodologies.Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals, to determine the feasibility of design or application.Essential SkillsProficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python, with experience in developing physics-based models.Proficiency with Unix/Linux Operating Systems.Strong understanding of aircraft systems and avionics principles.Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control systems, and software testing practices.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree required in Aerospace, Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.2+ years of software engineering or relative experience required.Familiarity with Aviation terminology and/or Flight Simulation experience.Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products in a dynamic environment.Ability to travel for up to 25% annually.Work Environment
The position operates on a 9x80 work week and is onsite.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
