About Lihir
Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Lihir offers a range of recreational facilities, including a gym, sports club, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course. Are you a creative and results-driven communications professional with a passion for storytelling and stakeholder engagement? Newmont Corporation is seeking an Advisor, Communications to join our high-performing External Relations team in Papua New Guinea.
As the Advisor, Communications, you will play a key role in delivering Newmont PNG’s communications strategy. Your focus will be on enhancing and protecting Newmont’s reputation among diverse stakeholders through compelling internal and external communications.
Essential Duties
This dynamic role includes:
Crafting and distributing internal communications across the organisation.Supporting brand and marketing initiatives, including content creation for traditional and social media.Assisting with media announcements, speeches, presentations, newsletters, and award nominations.Supporting events, sponsorships, community engagement, and editorial campaigns.
You’ll work closely with the Director, Communications APAC and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive impactful communications.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in media, public relations, communications, or equivalent.
Proven experience in corporate communications, media relations, and content creationExceptional writing and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency across digital and social media platforms. Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
