**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
The APRN, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:
+ Performing physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of injuries or illness of patients with GI related conditions in the out-patient setting.
+ Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
+ Treating patients with various conditions related to the full scope of the digestive system, such as GI bleeds, atypical chest pain/GERD, dysphagia, gallstone disease, gastroparesis flares, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis flares
+ Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
+ Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
+ Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
+ Documenting in a timely and thorough manner.
**Knowledge and Skills Required:**
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
+ Strong communication skills
+ Strong medical decision-making skills
**SCHEDULE DETAILS:**
+ Schedule Details: Monday – Friday, could be either Inpatient or Outpatient
+ Hospitals covered: AH Children’s and outreach clinics
+ Call Coverage: 5 days each month; 1 weekend each month. Includes hospital rounding.
**REQUIRED EDUCATION:**
+ Master’s degree in Nursing
**LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION:**
+ Current, valid Florida APRN license
+ Certification by ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
+ BLS & ACLS
