Job Title: Advanced Scientist- Beauty & Personal Care Summary:Independently develop new innovative materials for personal care market, aligning with the Beauty & Personal Care “go natural” strategy. Evolve as an impactful team player with good organizational citizenship and use project management skills appropriately. Responsibilities Include: + EH&S: Maintain a safety mindset and focus. Learn and adhere to safe work practices in the lab; exhibit and promote pro-active safe behaviors in lab activities. + Independently develop and optimize product formulation to help Momentive BPC grow business, by fully utilizing the company’s R&D process and system. + Responsible for creating, designing, synthesizing, and developing new products for the regional and global personal care market. + Effectively manage multiple projects, ensuring clear alignment of timelines, goals, and deliverables within business and market needs. + Work collaboratively with marketing, process, and manufacturing teams to execute project plans for timely positive progress. Technical problem-solving aptitude is required. + Clearly communicate the results of program activities and through written reports and presentations, including internal and external conferences and publications. + Awareness and ability to generate IP in developing new projects. + Travel requirements u p to 10% (including to scale up in plants, exhibitions, seminars, and visit customers). Qualifications: The following are required for the role + Full of enthusiasm for beauty and personal care. + Ph. D. with 1-2 years of experience Or M.S. with 3~4 years research/work experience in material chemistry, polymer chemistry or equivalent. + Experience in handling complex polymer/organic synthesis procedures in a safe and efficient manner + Knowledge and expertise in synthetic chemistries and standard characterization techniques (NMR, GC, GPC, etc.). + Strong safety ethics and knowledge/experience to safely lead lab research methods. + Good understanding of natural and naturalized materials in personal care formulation. + Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. + Expertise in patent analysis and filing, and intellectual property. + Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a high level of technical curiosity.
