Honeywell Electronic Materials is a global leader in supplying critical materials to the Semiconductor and Displays industries. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist in the development of Advanced Polymers and Coating Formulations and Processes. In this role, you will be accountable for facilitating the Wet Chemistry Lab work for polymer synthesis, coating formulation and process development and optimization, managing the sourcing and installation of advanced OEM equipment, providing training and maintenance, troubleshooting and optimizing processes, and handling new equipment implementations. You will also participate in cleanroom activities to support R&D projects, spin coating processes, develop metrology for coatings and coating formulations, and create SOPs for new tools/techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities:

\n\nExecute experiments as directed by the project guide to achieve customer satisfaction within project timelines. Seek input from others to solve problems and work as a team player with manufacturing for product transfer.\nDiscuss technical direction with the project guide to clarify laboratory work. Obtain work instructions, develop detailed work plans, and design experiments. Prepare customer samples for marketing and sales activities, including setting up effective product demonstrations.\nAssist team members on the project and provide specific instructions in areas of expertise. Communicate experimental plans and results verbally and in writing.\nExecute experimental plans as directed by the project guide. Participate in team meetings and educate others in areas of expertise. Compile and summarize test data for the project guide and technology members. Communicate detailed work plans and experiment results. Handle scientific demands professionally.\nAssume responsibility for laboratory maintenance and ensure the timely availability of required supplies. Proactively troubleshoot and optimize processes to minimize downtime.\nFacilitate wet chemistry lab work for polymer synthesis, coating formulation development, and optimization and R&D projects through thoughtful experimentation and metrology efforts.\nDevelop insight into cleanroom activities and spin coating processes. Oversee workflows, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure smooth operation.\nManage sourcing, installation, and maintenance of advanced OEM equipment. Create SOPs for new tools/techniques and provide hands-on training for new equipment. Troubleshoot and optimize processes, including new equipment implementations.\nCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Explain complex concepts clearly and assist team members. Manage projects effectively, ensuring on-time completion and clear documentation.\n\n

COMPENSATION
The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is $124,000.00 - $155,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

You Must Have:

\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics\n2+ years of experience in R&D laboratory working with new materials development, with the ability to perform laboratory tasks independently.\n1+ years of hands-on experience in the design and synthesis of organic and inorganic polymers, development of coating formulations and application processes, advanced filtration technologies, and metals purification processes.\nStrong aptitude for chemical research and willingness to perform laboratory work independently.\n\n

We Value:

\n\nMS degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Materials Science.\nGood oral and written communication skills.\nAbility to perform as an individual contributor as well as a cross-functional team member.\nHands-on experience in semiconductor cleanroom environment, equipment including spin coaters, metrology tools, developing coating formulations, wet film coating techniques (e.g., spin, spray, slot-die coating), metals purification, advanced filtration, and characterization of thin films and materials.\nKnowledge and some experience in semiconductor materials and applications, accelerated aging tests, working knowledge of statistical software, and conducting DOE.\nKnowledge of materials characterization and semiconductor metrology tools.\nMust be able to perform tasks self-reliantly.\nStrong aptitude for research work and scale up materials processes; Experience in conducting durability tests and evaluating performance by accelerated aging tests.\nGood oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
