Job Overview: Nurse Practitioner, Lactation Consultant
The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to serve as an expert in the delivery of advanced nursing care in outpatient lactation services.
You will assess breastfeeding difficulties and collaborate with healthcare providers to create individualized action plans for patients, adhering to hospital policies and protocols to ensure consistency of information

Master's degree in nursing requiredPreferred:
Two years experience in maternal/child health is strongly preferredCertifications and Licenses Required:
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New JerseyCurrent Advance Practice Nursing licensure in the State of New JerseyCurrent CDS and DEA requiredCertified as a nurse practitioner in the State of New Jersey within area of specialtyBLS certification, as approved by the American Heart AssociationCurrent IBCLC certification, or certification to be obtained within 12 months of hireScheduling Requirements:

As an APRN you will play a crucial role in delivering direct antepartum and postpartum lactation support and education to both patients and staff, ensuring that high-quality, cost effective services are provided Utilization of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine s Protocols to provide evidence-based careResponsibility for offering comprehensive, advanced and specialized health services throughout the continuum of the patient s lactation experience Assess breastfeeding difficulties and collaborate with healthcare providers to create individualized action plans for patientsAssess and monitor physical health needs of patients Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team Responsibility for clinical documentation that is current and meets the standards of practiceIdentifying risk factors and implement appropriate prevention and intervention Assist with planning, developing and implementing of patient education activities, as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factorsDemonstrate competency in knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to specific age-related populationsAct as clinical resource to other nursing staff in area of specialization Demonstrate knowledge of and utilize appropriate community resources Assist with setting and revising practice policiesAssist with routine paperworkOther Duties:
