Summary

Job Summary

 

Competently, safely, and effectively performs a wide range of technical functions related to the NP role. Documents all patient encounters appropriately and accurately after performing an accurate and comprehensive history and physical. Makes daily rounds on patients and manages care on a proactive basis. Identifies abnormal findings on physical assessment and diagnostic tests. Provides cost-effective care by appropriately ordering necessary diagnostic and therapeutic intervention. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of pharmacology and appropriate medication usage as evidenced by appropriate, safe, and costeffective therapeutic orders. Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with patients & families, other Hospitalist team members, consultants, all members of the patient care team and other departments. Serves as a resource and mentor to members of the department. Attends departmental meetings and required educational classes per policy. Maintains compliance with all regulations regarding provider and institutional reimbursement. Maintains knowledge of evidence based medicine and treatment plans and compliance with all Hospital and external agency requirements related to clinical therapeutics. Represents the department on various hospital and departmental committees as requested.

 

Experience: Required:

Less than one year Education: Required:  NP or MPAS or MSN

 

Licenses And Certification: Required:

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support 

Basic Life Support 

Controlled Dangerous Substances License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license

Current Maryland PA or CRNP License
