Responsible for overseeing the care of a defined patient population as a dominant aspect of the role and is recognized as an interdisciplinary leader within his/her specialty. Responsible for enacting standards of practice and standards of professional performance, consistently demonstrates the core competencies of advanced practice nursing as well as defined specialty competencies.
Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master's degree in Nursing and three to five years of previous work related experience. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Certification required as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Successful completion of department specific orientation and department specific certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) within one year of hire.
Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
