Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Roles and Responsibilities
Involves in design and development of aircraft engines components from conceptual design phase till testing and validation of concepts. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking and technical experience to execute projects/programs. Owns and leads programs with low risk and resource requirements and functionally acts independently following established practices. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Responsible to develop project plan and execute as per plan. Expected to leverage the LEAN principles and tools while executing projects.Has knowledge of best practices and able to work with adjacencies and multidisciplinary team; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing and design processes. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.Required Qualifications
MTech (Master of Technology)/ MS (Master of Science) in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university8+ years of experience in mechanical design and analyses of gas turbine rotor componentsExperience in tools: Ansys and UnigraphicsDesired Characteristics
