Roles and Responsibilities
Engineering activities relating to the sciences of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.Develop and apply knowledge of the movement of air as a fluid through complex mechanical systems and the exchange of thermal energy between components.Execute the analysis, design, test, and integration of assigned components or systems to meet product requirements and business standards.Proven interpersonal skills. Ability to provide informal guidance to less experienced team membersParticipate on teams assigned to address engineering and organizational initiatives.Collaborate with others by sharing information to solve problems and promote open dialogue. Communicate openly and clearly with other team members from other disciplines.Prepare, present, and/or review technical data with internal and external customers.Assure proper documentation of technical data consistent with engineering policies.Resolve issues using established procedures. Consult with supervisor or more senior team members as needed for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or universityMinimum 3 years of experience in an engineering roleLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with emphasis in heat transfer or fluid mechanicsDemonstrated experience with design, test, and analysis tools relating to thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, flow networks, or heat transferEffective problem identification and solution skillsExperience with gas turbine design and GE's thermal tools like Flo-simulatorAbility to plan, execute, and document engineering activities and coordinate several projects simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal and communication skills. Shares critical information, speaks with candor, and contributes constructivelyAbility to work independently. Demonstrated interest and experience in technical mentorship.Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills, with ability to influence others.Creativity and initiative to improve products and processes. Prior experience with NGT and FlowsimulatorThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
