Job Title: Advance IIoT Engineer, Digital

In your new role as an Advanced IIoT Engineer at Minerals Digital, you will have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge IIoT technology to facilitate the development, implementation, and integration of Weir's NEXT Intelligent digital solutions for the global mining industry.

To be successful in this role, you should be an experienced professional with a proven track record in overseeing and approving the development of IIoT systems, as well as providing level 3 technical support. You should be a proactive, collaborative team player who excels at interacting and integrating with internal teams, customers, and contractors.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing both remote and on-site field support for the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Weir's digital IIoT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: Possesses a comprehensive understanding of IIoT product design and development processes, with extensive experience in digital device testing and functionality verification. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurityAutomation & Coding: Must have knowledge of electrical automation cabinet design and electromechanical solutions, including the selection of components. Demonstrates experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software.Communication Skills: Exhibits strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while working independently with minimal supervision. Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to mentor team members effectively.Skillset: Goal-oriented with a pragmatic approach to delivering exceptional customer service. Capable of engaging with key stakeholders across the Weir business to effectively implement digital solutions at customer sites.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Industry Experience: Demonstrates experience with OT to IT integration to manage IIoT integration for customer DCS. Possesses knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic engineering design for the mining industry. Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, or NERC-CIP is desirable.Technical Skills: Must have knowledge of communication protocols like RS 232, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus DP, Ethernet IP, OPC UA, MQTT(SpvB), etc. Demonstrate s experience in configuration of system networks, and experience with Studio 5000, TIA Portal and TwinCAT, testing / commissioning industrial control systems. Experience with Node-Red and Phyton is a plus. Support testing and commissioning industrial control systems with field communication buses, control programs and development environments for programming, diagnostics and configurationSkillset: A self-starter with extensive experience in leading the commissioning and implementation of technical projects. Demonstrates flexibility in managing multiple demands simultaneously, possesses excellent communication skills, and has the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.Qualifications: A degree or master's in electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience or similar with 7 or more years of experience. A background in mining engineering or related fields is desirable. Proficiency in Spanish as a second or primary language is a plus.
