Key Responsibilities
Manage/coordinate new program launches as it relates to purchased content under purchasing process/Procedure/Policy.Being responsible for and maintain launch report and make sure BOM cost and Supplier tooling are under budget and program is launched on time.Working with commodity team to define the Supplier Bidding List for new parts.Work with cost estimator and commodity buyer to generate BOM cost for new program acquisition. Make and lead sourcing recommendations with commodity team and plants.Conduct APQP with new part suppliersCoordinate the PPAP approval process within the receiving plant with SDE/SQE.Being the interface of GSM and other functional department and plants for purchasing issue regarding to program launch.Coordinate launch activity within the GSM group – Commodity Management, Supplier Development and Launch Activity, inducing APQP assessment, R@R, Audits, supplier capacity commit etc.;Work with product engineering to develop and implement long and short-range plans and objectives to ensure cost-competitive and efficient new product designs.Drive new product design sourcing toward the BW strategic suppliers and support the category strategies that have been developed.Introduce the organization to new technical developments in materials and components, which will help product engineering achieve its objectives.Supplier liaison with the product engineering group to ensure fair and ethical treatment in all sourcing decisions.Work with other BW plants to benchmark suppliers and “best” purchasing practices.Perform job functions in accordance with applicable quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities
