Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic Hackney Occupational Therapy and Sensory Service within their Hospital Team. This hybrid role offers the chance to make a real difference in residents’ lives while enjoying the flexibility of part-office, part-community working.
Role Overview
You will deliver outstanding occupational therapy interventions to promote independence in daily living activities, working in a co-productive way to ensure residents have choice and control over their care. This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
What We’re Looking For:
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience in adult servicesClinical Experience: Proven background in hospital or social care settingsAssessment Skills: Ability to carry out functional assessments and identify needsCare Act Knowledge: Skilled in completing Care Act reviews, with a strong understanding of the Care Act 2014Legislation Awareness: Knowledge of safeguarding principles, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and related frameworksCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with patients, families, and colleaguesProblem-Solving: Creative approach to tailoring interventions to meet individual needsEmpathy: Compassionate, person-centred care approachTeamwork: Collaborative working within a multidisciplinary environmentOrganisation: Strong time management skills to manage a busy caseload effectivelyKey Responsibilities:
Provide holistic OT assessments and interventions to support patient independenceCarry out Care Act reviews and ensure compliance with relevant legislationWork closely with patients, families, and the wider health and social care teamUse evidence-based practice to develop and deliver tailored care plansSupport safe discharges from hospital to community settings
