Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Admixture Technician to join our team. While hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, retail pharmacy experience is also welcome. This role involves performing technical and nonjudgemental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control under the direct supervision of a physician within a clinic admixture room.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under physician supervision.Check all orders for completeness of information, verifying patient details and proper physician authorization.Admix drugs accurately and timely as ordered by the physician, following department guidelines and adhering to OSHA and interoffice guidelines.Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.Assist in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintaining records.Properly dispose of all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.Essential SkillsProficiency in pharmacy practices, compounding, and admixture techniques.Experience in medication preparation and laboratory environments.High School diploma or equivalent.1-2 years of experience ideally in a hospital setting.Work Environment
The work environment includes clinical research, laboratory, and office settings, providing a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
