The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is looking for a confident dynamic Admissions Counselor to attract and support the next generation of pharmacists through the admissions process to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program.

Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the admissions counselor will be responsible for performing administrative duties essential to the admissions process for PharmD applicants under the direction of the director of admissions. The admissions counselor will collaborate with the staff of the John P. and Constance A. Curran Student Center, the leadership team, and the Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist.

In this key role, the admissions counselor will collaborate with our talented faculty, staff, and students, to identify and prepare the next generation of pharmacists. The admissions counselor will support the PharmD Admissions Committee and represent them at group events that are in-person or virtual and one-on-one meetings with students and families.

A bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience is required. Experience in college or university recruiting and admissions is preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office products required. The applicant will be expected to become proficient in job-specific applications, for example: Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and the centralized application system.

Job Summary
Manages administrative and operational details for the Pitt Pharmacy PharmD admissions. Works closely with the director of admissions and the recruitment and enrollment specialist.Perform administrative duties essential to the admission process for the professional program:

Respond to inquiries regarding admission to the School of Pharmacy PharmD program.
o Answer phone calls directed to admissions office.
o Reply to inquiries to the admission’s email address.
Disseminate information to prospective applicants in collaboration with the recruitment and enrollment specialist, including paper materials and electronic information.
Meet with prospective high school and college students to discuss admissions requirements, provide program information, and be available to conduct tours if needed.
Work with RxAmbassadors and the recruitment and enrollment specialist to arrange tours, including meetings with team member(s).
Meet with undergraduate students who schedule meetings in Pathways Navigate for prepharmacy advising.
o Consult and advise prospective applicants on the application and admission procedures and requirements.
Maintain the list of prepharmacy students with the pharmacy guarantee from Pitt Main, Pitt Greensburg, Pitt Johnstown, and Pitt Bradford.
Advise prospective students of appropriate course preparation and selection to meet prerequisites during prepharmacy advising and prerequisite review meetings.
o Coordinate prerequisite meetings with all interviewees.
Create and facilitate remote PharmD interviews.
Pull interview reports for dissemination to PharmD Admissions Committee.
Assist in the interview process by scheduling faculty and applicants, preparing interview documents.
o Email interviewers, applicants, and staff reminders and pertinent information.
Collate and prepare statistical student data for reports and admissions committee.
Verify applicant has the required courses for admission.
Review transcripts and verify transfer credits.
Maintain PharmD Admissions Committee Microsoft Teams.
File applications, transcripts and other materials for students in the Class student records folders on Students Services share drive.
Keep up to date on national, international, local, and campus issues around enrollment and the potential impacts on students.
Represent the School of Pharmacy at the annual AACP Conference for Admissions specific.
Interact and collaborate with departments within the university system to be consistent in information disseminated to students.
