BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for reviewing the first-year student applications from an assigned territory, and for making admission decisions on those applications. Assist with coverage of counselor-of-the-day as needed. Assist with recruitment presentations and with recruiting events. Represent the University at high school visits and college fairs in assigned territories. Assist as needed with projects/assignments related to all facets of the Office of Admission functions.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and evaluate applicant credentials and make admission decisions.
As part of Counselor-of-the-Day assistance, counsel individual applicants and family members.
Conduct and participate in both in- and out-of-state recruitment activities (e.g., college nights and fairs, high school visits, etc.)
Work evenings and weekend as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform additional duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers; database management and spreadsheet software. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Must provide own transportation.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of up to one year of prior recruitment experience in a professional setting.
3. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Demonstrated proficiency with written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated presentation skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
7. Demonstrated ability to lift boxed materials (35 pounds).
8. Willingness to travel (i.e., an average of ten weeks in the Fall, and an average of six weeks in the Spring).
9. Must provide own transportation.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Demonstrated familiarity with customer service practices.
2. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
3. Demonstrated experience with Customer Relationship Management or similar software system.
