Administrator on Duty - Evenings

An Administrator on Duty is accountable for proactively coordinating the activities of admission, discharge and transfer of patients thereby supporting throughput in the facility by providing interim leadership including but not limited to crisis management intervention as a representative of hospital administration. AOD's provide direction to department leaders to ensure safe levels of staffing while maintaining efficient hospital throughput. AOD's also serve as a resource for all staff and is able to apply competent knowledge and skills to achieve quality outcomes. Channels pertinent patient/employee/department information to appropriate internal and external sources.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Fosters growth in others through mentoring, education, and knowledge sharing across the healthcare team. Serves as a preceptor and supports the development of new preceptors.
+ Promotes continuous learning and shares expertise within and beyond the clinical unit.
+ Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking in coordinating patient placement and ADT processes. Collaborates with physicians and teams to optimize care and resource use.
+ Identifies and resolves hospital function issues, engaging appropriate departments when needed. Maintains a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for patients, families, and staff.
+ Applies research and evidence-based practices to improve patient throughput and drive quality initiatives.
+ Coaches peers on diversity, addresses workplace challenges, and models healthy work habits and positive communication.
+ Builds strong internal and external relationships, fostering trust and transparency.
+ Leads improvement efforts in collaboration with hospital administration and stakeholders. Adapts communication styles to support staff and influence change through professional engagement.
+ BS/BSN required.
+ If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.
+ CNL/MSN preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required with relevant leadership experience preferred.
+ Must maintain a solid/strong performer rating on annual performance review. Registered Nurse. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
+ Act 33 / 34 / 73 with renewal
+ ACLS preferred
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
