About the role:
This role supports the administration for the Boots Benevolent Fund, a charity dedicated to help support current and former team members who find themselves in financial hardship.
You will work closely with the Fund Manager and Benevolent Fund team to deliver a caring and supportive experience to applicants who are experiencing hardship. You will be an ambassador for the Fund, raising awareness and access.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a range of administration and planning activities to support the Benevolent Fund application process.
• Provide tailored guidance/support for applicants in response to email or telephone queries and to a high standard.
• Liaise with 3rd parties as required via telephone or email (e.g. creditors, TELUS)
• Maintain high standard of records and management information to meet audit requirements.
• Manage and prepare payments to applicants and 3rd parties.
• Provide the Fund Manager with recommendations on how to support the application in line with the agreed Benevolent Fund criteria.
• Share insights and opportunities for improvement, particularly around the administration process.
• Maintain process maps for the application process and reports as required to support the Fund (e.g. quarterly KPI report, weekly status report).
• Organise and attend the Grants Committee meetings and provide an overview of each application and recommended support.
• Support the Fund Manager in raising awareness of and promoting the Fund including the organisation and delivery of awareness raising activities.
What you’ll need to have:
• Strong communication skills, a caring, supportive, and sensitive manner with the resilience to support sensitive circumstances.
• Ability to provide amazing care for applicants, drive to get things right first-time, an inquisitive mindset and ability to research and find out information.
• Organised, professional approach to work, practical approach to problem solving, ability to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines.
• Proactivity in seeking solutions and implementing new ways of working and compliance with Benevolent Fund criteria and GDPR.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
It would be great if you also have:
• An understanding of household financial budgeting i.e. monthly bills
• Experience of Charity work.
• An understanding of the Boots Benevolent Fund.
