Role: Administrative Officer
Salary: £23,151.50 per annum (pro-rata)
Location: Birmingham
Permanent: Permanent - Part-Time – 18.5 to 22.5 hours a week
The hours are anything between 18.5 hours and 22.5 hours a week made up of days from Monday to Friday, we are flexible on the hours as long as they are made up from 9am to 5pm. There may also be the opportunity to work extra Casual hours according to the needs of the service.

A bit about the role
Action for Children deliver the Young Carers Service in Birmingham. Young carers have a caring responsibility for a parent, sibling or other family member. We offer group support (face to face and digitally) youth group sessions, training, holidays activities and 1:1 support to children, young people and families. We work with children and young people from the ages of 5 to 18 years.
We support children, young people and families in schools, their homes or in the community and offer them additional guidance so that they are able to manage daily tasks more effectively at home.
During the holidays we offer fun activities for children and young people. We also offer family events where parents and carers can meet each other and share their experiences.
You will be predominantly responsible for providing excellent administrative support by providing a first-class administrative service to colleagues and service users.
What you will be doing:
Working to a high standard, on administrative tasks that support the team.Providing a smooth-running service that is busy and evolving by working collaboratively in a team. Handling telephone enquiriesGiving a warm and welcoming disposition as first point of contact to colleagues, parents, and professionals.You will need:
Business Administration S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.Confidence in the of use of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.Ability to work within a diverse team environment and work independently with initiative.To be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally to a range of different people.To take responsibility for a project or task and deliver within agreed timescales.To manage and prioritise your own workload within agreed deadlines.Proactive with the ability to work remotely on your own.Attention to detail - this is essential.Flexibility in working hoursGood to know.
