What you need to know
+ T his position may allow up to 2 days per week remote work which can be discussed further during the interview process.
+ The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
Job Summary:
Works under general supervision and provides administrative support for a unit to include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment. Orders supplies for researchers to use in the lab or office; Makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives. 33%
+ Process invoices in AggieBuy; handles making large capital equipment purchases; process procard entries and expense reports. 20%
+ Coordinates small and large shipments for researchers and lab operations: 11%
+ Applies and interprets, and/or assists in implementing management policies or operating practices. Develops administrative and technical procedures. Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies and procedures. May monitor compliance with policies and procedures. 10%
+ Prepares travel expense reports in Emburse for researchers. May assist with rental car, airfare, hotel, or other travel arrangements; Coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events and may provide on-site support. 10%
+ Participates in the planning and execution of administrative operations. May serve as the office manager. Monitors office procedures. Develops, evaluates, and ensures adherence to office procedures. 5%
+ Prepares receipts for check deposits from service center operations: 5%
+ Back up for handling biweekly and monthly payroll. 5%
+ Other duties as assigned. 1%
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
Knowledge of TAMU systems preferred including AggieBuy, Canopy, and Emburse.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Planning and organization skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform common office functions.
Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.
Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
