The Elections Program is dedicated to ensuring the integrity of Louisiana’s electoral process and encouraging public participation through voter education and outreach. We work to protect the voting rights of our citizens and maintain the fairness and transparency of elections across the state.
This position is based in the East Baton Rouge Registrar of Voters Office, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission. As part of our team, you’ll provide essential clerical and administrative support, helping our office operate efficiently and serve the community effectively. AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in which clerical work was a major duty.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Screens, routes, and resolves telephone calls, or accesses appropriate staff to resolve the same for the East Baton Rouge Registrar of Voters Office.
+ Provides customer service to the public (voters, candidates, elected officials, and private and public interest groups).
+ Sorts and directs all mail and elections documents, screens and verifies accuracy of voter registration applications, and as appropriate, evenly distributes to team members on a daily basis.
+ Files and scans daily.
+ Screens voter applications for accuracy and for prior registrations daily.
Some discretion is required in the performance of these duties. Duties will expand in scope and complexity and develop into departmental-program duties.
Position-Specific Details:
Division: East Baton Rouge Registrar of Voters / Multiple Vacancies
Location: EBR ROV Office, St Louis St, Baton Rouge, LA.
Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Overtime Requirements:For every election cycle, the selected applicant must be available to work on the two Saturdays during early voting, extended daily hours during early voting, and also the day of the election, which is normally a Saturday.
