PURPOSE
The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is inviting applications for an Administrative Associate IV to provide advanced administrative support to its Research Operations team and to support the daily business functions of a dynamic research institute. This position will work under general supervision and be the primary administrative point of contact for our Field Research Operations Group.

The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science (CBI) at TAMU-CC is a collaborative research environment utilizing geospatial science to support data driven decision making. The institute’s research laboratories develop innovative solutions informed by precise measurements honoring the legacy of the Blucher family and their commitment to surveying and science. CBI pushes the boundaries of geospatial science by applying cutting edge technologies to map, measure, collect and manage big data used to predict our physical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Operations: 45%
+ Process travel and purchasing transactions ensuring adherence with institute, university, and sponsor compliance requirements.
+ Process procurement and travel credit card forms to ensure charges are properly approved and allocated to the correct accounts.
+ Prepare and process monthly fleet log entries to ensure charges are properly approved and allocated to the correct account for accounting actions.
+ Prepare and process monthly project-specific telecommunications charges to ensure charges are properly approved and allocated to the correct accounts.
+ Maintain research operations planning software to ensure deliverables are entered properly.
+ Assist with initiatives, meetings and special events.
+ Notetaking/minutes.
Operations Support: 30%
+ Maintain calendar of field activities.
+ Help maintain laboratory space.
+ Provide support to the team as needed to facilitate successful completion of field work.
+ Monitor sponsor approval of task completion via electronic systems (proprietary and via email).
+ Draft fixed price invoices in accordance with deliverable completion and contract requirements.
+ Draft progress, technical, and final reports based on contract requirements.
Teamwork and Collaboration: 20%
+ Develop a basic understanding of the work conducted by the institute and the research operations team in particular.
+ Build relationships with colleagues both within and outside of the institute.
+ Utilize resources, ask questions, and troubleshoot to complete job duties.
+ Utilize exceptional communication skills to share information both within and outside of the institute.
Field Operations: 5%
+ Physical maintenance of environmental data collection stations.
+ Safely operate university vehicles/machinery
+ Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Four (4) years of related work experience.
+ Additional education/experience may be considered as substitution for minimum experience requirements:
+ Associate’s degree and Two (2) years of related work experience, OR
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Maintain a valid driver’s license.
+ Willingness and ability to travel, including extended overnight travel and work outside of normal business hours
+ Proven ability to follow spoken or written instructions.
+ Capable of working outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, sun, wind, and rough terrain.

+ Sit, stand, bend, twist, and maneuver in small spaces, and vessels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s degree in STEM field.
+ Work experience in a research focused organization.
+ Previous experience with systems and software used within the Texas A&M University System.
+ Demonstrated success using Azure DevOps
SALARY: Up to $19.23 Hourly
+ NOTE: This is a grant funded position with continued employment contingent upon available funding.
