We have an outstanding career opportunity for anAdministrative Assistant – Logistics to join a leading Company located in theSterling, VA surrounding area.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support logistics operations for a food production facility in Sterling, VA. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in logistics or warehouse coordination, strong Excel skills, and a clear understanding of DOT compliance and driver scheduling.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate daily routing activities related to production planning and shipping timelines
+ Monitor and track driver clock-ins/outs, breaks, and fuel usage
+ Communicate with third-party warehouses regarding trailer pickups and schedules
+ Ensure proper documentation: BOLs, PODs, trip reports, pre-trip inspections
+ Track and monitor leased equipment to optimize usage and minimize costs
+ Maintain temperature control and secure load requirements for all shipments
+ Schedule and organize preventive maintenance and truck cleaning
+ Hold weekly meetings with CDL drivers regarding DOT updates and assessments
+ Assist with accident reporting, roadside emergencies, and follow-ups
+ Submit daily BOLs and ensure RM/FG transfers between plants are completed
Basic Hiring Criteria
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Previous logistics or warehouse clerk experience (preferably in a high-volume environment)
+ Advanced Excel skills required
+ Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
+ Understanding of DOT regulations and driver compliance
