The Center for Family Medicine (CFM) is a busy outpatient teaching practice that provides a full range of Primary Care services to adults and children. This center also performs many office-based procedures, osteopathic manipulation and medication assisted treatment for opioid addiction. As Administrative Assistant on this team, you are an essential part of ensuring smooth operations and improving coordination, allowing caregivers to focus on patient care. This position is a great steppingstone to others within the Administrative track and beyond. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days Monday-Friday, from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Perform a variety of duties to support administration, such as scheduling, handling phone calls, greeting customers and correspondence.  

Manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively. 

Act as a liaison between internal and external customers by greeting customers and answering and triaging phone calls. 

Administer calendars and schedules. 

Compose and prepare a variety of correspondence (e.g., reports, forms, presentation materials, messages, etc.) as required. 

Provide coverage of other areas such as front end, point of service and registration. 

Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High School Diploma or GED 

One year of office experience  

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel or PowerPoint) 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Two years of college or business school 

Typing proficiency of 35 WPM with accuracy 

Experience in a medical office or hospital

Physical Requirements:

A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC/word processor.

Normal or corrected vision.

Ability to tolerate extensive sitting and frequent walking to other parts of the campus.

Lifting or carrying of up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
