Job SummaryThe University of Michigan department of Environment, Health & Safety is seeking an Administrative Assistant Associate. This position serves as a critical member of the EHS
Administrative Team, who share responsibility for the day-to-day clerical and administrative support of the EHS department. The ability to work as part of a team is essential to the success of the person in this position.

Skills You HaveDemonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizing work and balancing multiple projects concurrently. Demonstrated ability to initiate activities and carry them through to completion as well as the flexibility to change focus and priorities quickly.Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information with a demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy.Ability to identify calls and/or emails that require immediate attention.Strong verbal and written communication skills including active listening. Ability to build positive and productive relationships with individuals at various professional levels.Prior customer service experience and phone experience.
Required Qualifications*High School diploma or equivalentOne to three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google DocsAbility to communicate effectively with a broad range of people across all levels of the organization. Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is some flexibility with the start time for this position, but the successful candidate will need to be on site until at least 4:00 pm. Due to the nature of the work, this position is on site with no option for hybrid or remote work.
This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
