Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. NBC News Washington is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the SVP, Editorial Operations, SVP, Washington Bureau Chief and Deputy Bureau Chief. Responsibilities: + Perform general administrative duties (i.e. answering telephones, scheduling/planning meetings, filing, planning all travel arrangements for executives, submitting expense reports, etc.) + Prepare and update correspondence, reports, and documents using Excel, Word and PowerPoint + Assist on ad hoc projects and other miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisors + Maintain basic knowledge of current news events + Organize internal and external visits with government officials, newsmakers,  News Group and media partners + Assist in research and other editorial projects, supporting correspondents, reporters and producers across the Washington bureau + Bachelor’s degree in a related field + Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights, under tight deadline pressure, occasionally with little or no warning (e.g. breaking news). + Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events + Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills + Professional phone and office manner, including when handling high-level confidential and sensitive company information + Must be willing to work in Washington, DC Desired Characteristics: + Strong desire to pursue a career in journalism + Experience with newsrooms and newsgathering operations + Strong interpersonal & communication skills + A proactive self-starter with strong multitasking and prioritization skills + Ability to manage relationships with clients, and interact with senior leadership and talent across the organization Additional Requirements: + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
